Learning 2.0

Learning 2.0 should help me to better help customers with their technology questions. It is difficult for an average person to keep up with the advances in technology. Young people seem so much more comfortable and quick with technology, but it is important for all of us as lifelong learners to use the latest technology that is available to us.

7.5 Habits

Well, this blog is out of order because I didn't read the directions carefully. Is that one of the 7.5 habits. As a retired teacher and am well into the final half of my life, I am well acquainted with the habits of lifelong learning. I'm currently learning to be a library clerk. Just shelving the books has made me aware of the many wonderful learning opportunities that I have left to savor,

RSS Readers

RSS readers can save a lot of time if you are accustomed to using certain sites on the internet at frequent intervals. The only disadvantage that I can see is that you may not investigate new sites, perhaps getting you in a "rut."

To Retire or Not Retire: That is the Question

So, I retired from a 34-year career in education in June, and here I am working part-time in a Virginia Beach Public Library as a clerk. This job has some great features that teaching did not have: a lower level of stress, more physical activity, and a very visual level of my accomplishment. At the end of the day, I can look at the stacks of orderly books and see what I have accomplished!
